Clinical Supervision for LMSWs in Texas

Are you ready to take the next step toward LCSW licensure? In addition to my therapy practice, I am a board-certified clinical supervisor for LMSWs seeking LCSW licensure. I offer individual weekly virtual supervision. I love being part of the development of fellow social workers. My supervision style is grounded in the relational-cultural model, designed to enhance your clinical and professional skills while also exploring self-awareness and growth.

  • I earned my LCSW in 2005. I became a clinical supervisor in 2020. I also provided supervision for MSW and BSW interns for several years. I have extensive experience working with individuals with multiple vulnerabilities including trauma, mental illness, substance use, homelessness, and criminal justice involvement. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked in a variety of settings including VA Medical Centers, shelters, days centers, and in public defense.

  • Above all, I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I am Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I utilize a variety of modalities in my work including relational therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, polyvagel theory, person in environment, and solution focused therapy.

  • I am a fierce advocate for social justice and seek ways to include mezzo and macro work in supervision. This may include reading social justice related books together, examining biases, challenging and decolonizing mental health care, and exploring ways to be an advocate in your community.

  • Supervision fees are $300 each month.

Supervision takes place virtually. Optional in-person meetings are occasionally available. We meet individually for 4 hours each month.

The BHEC requires a minimum of 100 hours of supervision with a board-approved supervisor that occurs throughout the course of a minimum of 3,000 supervised clinical hours. The supervisee must engage in supervision and clinical hours within a timeframe of a minimum of 24 months. There is no longer a requirement to complete supervision within 48 months.

If everything around you seems dark, look again, you may be the light.
